The Wait is Almost Over!
On Saturday morning as we turned the twisty road past The Ashford Arms the scaffolding still cradled the building and the hard hats were in sight.
“Two weeks until it opens!” were the excitable thoughts but the very evident building work did leave somewhat of a fearful taste in the mouth as the words left our lips.
Then, a mere few hours later, the scaffolding was taken down piece by piece revealing the new front of The Ashford Arms.
With repainted frames and new signage, The Ashford Arms is being unveiled, layer by layer.
The fear of building deadlines has turned to elation. It’s coming together! It’s almost ready.
Opening Saturday, March 9th at Midday
Work is happening each day to be ready to open on Saturday March 9th at midday. We’re at the point where the structural and building restoration has minor bits to finish and the interior furnishings are being finished.
We hope you like it as much as we do. We’ve had a lot of fun picking the paintings and bringing a bit of personality into the place.
The room furnishings are a lot more feminine and softer than The Maynard and The George but equally as comfortable as you sink into the plush beds or rest a while on a comfy chair.
There are some new and exciting additions to The Ashford Arms including the heated pergola with retractable roof and pretty festoon lighting.
It’s going to be THE place and space you’re going to want to watch the sun go down into the late evening, cool glass of wine or beer in hand with great company around you.
We can’t wait to see that bit bustling in the sunshine this spring and summer.
Behind the scenes, staff training is full steam ahead. We’ve got a very eager and excitable team ready to open, armed full of knowledge, passion and energy.
The Ashford Arms will be the third venue for us at Longbow Venues and will continue to operate under our core values of You, Passion, Heritage, Character and Progressive.
Our bars, restaurants and venues are operated with the highest level of customer service and we are committed to using local suppliers for the freshest, tastiest food.
We want you to trust us to deliver a dining experience every time; whether you’re kicking back your walking boots by the fire or you’re dressed up to go ‘out out’ and celebrate those special occasions with us.
Now Taking Bookings
We are taking bookings from Saturday, March 9th for the restaurant and our rooms for an overnight stay. We’re also opening just in time for Mother’s Day which falls early this year on Sunday, March 10th.
