Stay With Us This Summer at The Ashford Arms

Your boutique Peak District escape

Summer in the Peak District is everything you want from an English escape. Rolling green hills, riverside strolls, village pubs and hidden trails that invite you to slow down and really take it all in. And right at the heart of it all sits The Ashford Arms, ready to be your stylish, comfortable and character-filled base for exploring.

Sleep in style

Our boutique bedrooms blend timeless tradition with elegant charm. Each one is individually styled for a cosy, warm and welcoming stay. Think soft throws, locally crafted wooden furniture and thoughtful touches that make you want to settle in for the night.

Whether you choose a deluxe double with king bed and sleek en-suite shower, our spacious junior suite, or our suite with super king bed and freestanding bath, you will find luxury linen, premium tea and coffee, and The White Company toiletries waiting for you.

Breakfast is included

Breakfast at The Ashford Arms is included with every stay, and it is every bit as special as you would hope. Expect hearty cooked favourites with local sausages from our friends The Ginger Butchers in Bakewell and eggs any way you like them, alongside lighter choices like smashed avocado on sourdough or creamy porridge with fresh fruit. We make everything to order, so gluten-free and vegetarian options are never an afterthought. It is all served with fresh coffee, tea and juice to make sure you are fuelled for a day of Peak District adventures.

Food to dine for

It is our food that really makes The Ashford Arms special. We are lovingly stubborn about quality. Our menus feature Peak District pub classics with a modern twist alongside dishes inspired by our travels, all made from scratch under the guidance of executive chef Adrian Gagea and head chef Chris Parker.

We use the freshest local ingredients from hard-working farmers and producers, with seasonal menus that change to match what is growing nearby. Everything is made to order, so we can adapt most dishes to be gluten-free, and our vegetarian and vegan options are just as carefully crafted.

We believe in fuss-free but beautifully presented food. No foams or gels, just real cooking with real flavour, plated to look as good as it tastes. Our beef, pork, poultry and lamb come from local suppliers at New Close Farm who value traditional farming, and we are proud to showcase Peak District produce in every bite.

Drink up

Our bar is well stocked with local ales from Thornbridge and Abbeydale, wines carefully chosen with our partners at Hattersley Wines in Bakewell, and spirits from local distilleries including Shining Cliff, Shivering Mountain and Chatsworth Gin. Whether you are after a perfect G&T before dinner, a pint of local beer in the sunshine or a hand-selected wine from a small-batch vineyard, we will pour it with pride.
